Samuel R. J. Gillilan (b. 1989) is an award-winning international Leica photographer, visionary artist, educator, explorer, and author. His photographic work is found in Vogue, AP, Getty, and more.

Samuel spent his early years growing up on a sail boat in the Pacific Northwest.  Visual arts and music were at the forefront of his home-based education.  After earning a degree and having a career in the live music industry for over 10 years, Samuel’s attention turned towards science. 

Samuel began working in a quantum physics research laboratory, building resonance energy sources for deep space travel, this research lead Samuel to explore the medium of photography as a form of expressing the human experience, creating windows into other-worldly dimensions.   

Samuel is based in Kauai, Hawaii.  He has traveled as a pilgrim to over nineteen countries to document multicultural Holy Sites. 

These pilgrimages have inspired Samuel’s self-mastery through the medium of photography; a medium Samuel uses to convey inner visions and ancient symbolism of the human psyche. 

Ancient traditions, symbolism, time, physics and the greater nature of reality are themes that thread together Samuel’s imagery.
